| Источник | Transferred from de.wikipedia to Commons. This engraving is not by Barth. This engraving was published in Le Tour du Monde (Paris 1860, Deuxième Semestre) on page 240. A scan is available from Gallica here. Le Tour du Monde was a popular weekly magazine created by Édouard Charton and published by Librairie Hachette. The picture has the caption: "Vue général de Tembouctou - Dessin de Lancelot d'après Barth (cinquième volume)". Presumably this is Dieudonné Lancelot. This engraving is similar to a tinted engraving that was used as a frontispiece to Heinrich Barth's Travels and Discoveries in North and Central Africa Volume 4 of the Longmans edition published in 1858. See scan available from Google books here The scan is poor and the caption is almost impossible to read but may have "Martin Bernatz after a sketch by Heinrich Barth" List of Figures has: "View of Timbúktu from the Terrace of the Traveller's House" The tinted engraving was also published in the German edition of Barth's book Reisen und Entdeckungen Volume 4 (1858) opposite page 451.
